Job Description

ProspectBlue seeks a Facilities Manager for their client in Richmond, VA!

This facility specializes in warehousing, pasteurizing, roasting, and distributing imported food goods. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with experience in food manufacturing who can build and train a high-performing team while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities:

The Facility Manager will report to the VP of Operations and work with all departments.

Responsibilities of the Facility Manager:

  • Control and monitor physical inventories, procurement of production, plant, and warehouse supplies, and manage costs effectively.
  • Monitor production for quality standards, maximize productivity, and minimize product waste, including overseeing sanitation practices and conducting internal audits.
  • Creating budgets and analyzing financial statements and performance data to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Build and train a team of supervisors to carry out the goals and objectives of the division, fostering a culture of trust and high performance.
  • Oversee and support team meetings with supervisors from each department to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Create and oversee comprehensive training programs, ensuring backup training for each department and adherence to company hiring and disciplinary procedures. Including but not limited to worker safety, food safety, code of conduct, etc.
  • Training and knowledge of how to operate all equipment including preventative maintenance.
  • Oversee and monitor the implementation of HACCP, GFSI, and sustainability programs to ensure operational compliance and safety.
  • Maintain certificates, permits, and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Responsible for plant inspections by state and federal agencies, maintaining all necessary permits and dealing with regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with HR to implement policies that are fair and equitable, enhancing workplace culture and employee satisfaction.

Required Qualifications of the Facility Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • +5 years’ experience in a management position within the food manufacturing industry.
  • HACCP, PCQI, & FSMA Knowledge / Training
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent Communication and Organization Skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
