Responsibilities
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Research complex tax issues and apply current tax law
- Provide tax planning and strategy recommendations to clients
- Review returns prepared by staff accountants
- Represent clients during tax audits and correspondence
- Stay current with tax law changes and regulations
- Communicate tax concepts clearly to clients
- Meet tax deadlines throughout the year
- Build relationships with clients for retention
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Accounting required
- CPA license preferred or working toward certification
- 3-5 years of tax accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes
- Experience with corporate, partnership, and individual returns
- Proficiency with tax software like ProSeries or Lacerte
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good client communication abilities
