Summary: Responsible for safely loading and delivering products or raw materials as directed by the Plant/Operations Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned
• Load, unload, and handle hazardous materials
• Responsible for safety of transporting hazardous materials
• Responsible for preparing a daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection report as required by the Department of Transportation
• Must maintain a driver’s daily log
• Keep truck clean and report any problems to supervisor
• Keep a valid Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat certification
• Adhere to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration CDL program
• Obtain customer’s signature on appropriate documents • Have in possession while driving a copy of the medical examiner’s certificate
Essential Qualifications and Skills :
To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility in a satisfactory manner through individual effort or effective and appropriate collaboration. Additionally, the well-qualified candidate will have the following education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 21 years old with a valid CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsement
• Lifting, pushing, pulling, bending and climbing in and out of the truck
• The ability to safely drive the vehicle
• Display the ability to safely load, properly block, brace, and secure the cargo
• Pass a driver’s road test or equivalent
• Possess a valid medical certificate
• Be a strong team player
Work Environment:
Works and travels throughout plant environment of varied temperatures and humidity, and wears personal protective equipment, as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Various operations in the plant generate noise, dust, vapor and fumes in the normal course of production. The Company has been and is committed to eliminate these conditions to the extent possible through the application of design engineering. The Company also provides a variety of safety equipment to keep all associates safe and within OSHA standards. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
