Job Summary:

The Division General Manager – Iowa Operations (Shell Egg, NRBS & Liquid) is accountable for the overall leadership, performance, and strategic direction of egg production and processing operations across Centrum Valley, Iowa Cage Free Goldfield, and Ovation. This role ensures operational synergy and excellence from shell egg to breaking and liquid processing while fostering a high-performance, safety-oriented culture aligned with Versova’s Core Values. The GM will be responsible for leading production and plant teams, driving business results, upholding compliance standards, and cultivating team engagement to ensure sustained growth and profitability.

Essential Job Functions:

• Execute Versova’s Business Imperatives across shell egg, nest-run breaking stock, and liquid operations in Iowa.
• Lead cross-functional teams across live production and processing to optimize throughput, yield, egg quality, labor efficiency, and uptime.
• Drive KPIs across all sites, including rate of lay, case yield, egg loss, feed and labor utilization, processing uptime, and cost efficiency.
• Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to site managers, business unit leaders, and plant teams.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable UEP, USDA, FDA, and SQF regulations, including biosecurity, animal welfare, and food safety standards.
• Promote cultural alignment, collaboration, and accountability across all three sites.
• Partner closely with HR, Maintenance, Compliance, Safety, and Quality teams to ensure site success.
• Lead talent development and retention strategies; oversee succession planning and organizational growth initiatives.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and divisional P&L performance with attention to operational cost and margin optimization.
• Participate in long-range capital planning and oversee key infrastructure and operational improvements.
• Stay informed on local labor market dynamics and provide input on compensation strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Operations Management, Food Science, or a related field.
• 9–12 years of progressive leadership experience in animal agriculture, food processing, or vertically integrated production environments.
• Proven track record managing both live operations and further processing in a multi-site capacity.
• Strong financial literacy and analytical decision-making skills; familiarity with operational KPIs and performance metrics.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory, compliance, biosecurity, and animal welfare frameworks.
• Effective communicator with demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and align diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, or Operations Management.
• Experience in cage-free and conventional egg systems, as well as further processing (breaking and liquid).
• Background leading geographically dispersed teams or cross-functional departments in agriculture or food production.

Work Environment:

This position requires frequent on-site presence at Centrum Valley, Iowa Cage Free Goldfield, and Ovation. Work will take place across production barns, processing plants, and office settings, and includes exposure to environmental elements typical in agricultural and food processing environments. Travel between sites is essential for effective leadership and oversight.
